Computer is an electronic machine which can be used to perform a large number of tasks based on several instructions.The computer physically consist of several devices connected together these can be summarised as the "hardware".

"Software" consist of data and instructions that are stored in the hardware using electrical or magnetic means.

Whatever be the hardware a good software collection is needed for the working of the computer.

The first step in learning computer is knowing which software you are using.The most basic software element is the operating system which controls the hardware.
